Using the old Train Engineer with the new Train Engineer

If you have an original Train Engineer Transmitter or Receiver (pre-1996) and want to use it with your new Train Engineer, here's how to do it...

To link New Receiver to Old Transmitter

Set the DIP switches on the transmitter as per the illustration above (As an example, FAST = all three switches down.) You may choose any of the buttons 0 through 7 as per the illustration.

Press the A & B keys simultaneously and wait for the blinking light on the transmitter. Press the Fast button (or whichever code button you want) and the receiver and transmitter are linked. Remember to use two different codes when using multiple receivers.

To link the Old Receiver to the New Transmitter

Press the A and B Key Pads at the same time for three (3) seconds. The LED on the new transmitter will blink. Then link the receiver Dip Switches with the Function keys as per the diagram.
