Aristo-Craft's Flat Car with Cable Reels is based upon a freight railcar used during the late 1890's to the early 1900's era, originally used by the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad, Colorado & Southern, East Broad Top and others. However, while being plain in appearance, flat cars ars are versatile in function. Carrying oversized cargo (cable reels, vehicles, girders) or transporting numerous loads, the flat car's ability to handle such tasks efficiently and cheaply have sustained this freight car to present day, primarily unchanged from when it debuted in the late 1800's.
